Hello, we're Tyler and Abigail!

We are so excited to start this journey with you! Thank you for taking some time to review our profile! We hope our positivity and quirkiness shine through.

Our story is a tale as old as time. He was a beast; she was a beauty. Just kidding! We met at church in Colorado. It was not love at first sight but a friendship that grew into courtship, love, and very happy marriage. We are quite the example of how "opposites attract" and how complimentary that can be.

On our first date, we went to Chipotle! This was followed by many dates, including hikes, camping trips, and movie nights. We dated for about one year before getting engaged.

We were married in the springtime of 2015. It was a backyard barbeque wedding reception, and it was perfect. We only got a few drops of BBQ sauce on our wedding clothes. A couple of weeks later, we celebrated our honeymoon in Costa Rica. It was the first time either of us had traveled that far from the U.S. It was not the last!

We have been married for over seven years, and from the beginning, we have been trying to have children. We have not been able to conceive, and we would love to grow our family through adoption.

Financial Support

Expectant mothers who choose to make an adoption plan may qualify for some level of financial assistance during their pregnancy. However, each person's situation and specific needs are different. Your adoption social worker can help you determine what level of assistance you qualify for and deserve. Many expectant mothers qualify for financial assistance to cover basic pregnancy and living expenses, including but not limited to - transportation reimbursement, utility assistance for phone, water, and electricity/gas, maternity clothing and supplements, etc.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

Our mutts

02/06/2023

Tyler and I were excited because on Christmas our friends bought us two Doggie DNA kits. We were able to send in both Roman and Gladius's DNA to find out exactly what breed of dog mix they were! We got the result back. They both have some american pitbull, which might be common for mutts in America.  Gladius (black dog): American staffordshire, pitbull and great pyrennees. Roman: German shepherd, husky, and pitbull (his wasn't as big a surprise - he acts like a husky).  It was a really fun gift. We spoil them... and they deserve to be spoiled.

Bloopers and baking

12/05/2022

Tyler and I love the video that parentfinder.com put together for our family page. We especially like that they chose to include the "bloopers" at the end of the video - it shows a bit more of our personality! Christmas season is here! We are baking a lot, I just can't help but make cookies every week. Why is it that the christmas season makes baking so popular? I don't have that urge as much any other time of the year. It's weird.  We are looking forward to a quiet christmas this year, just the two of us! I hope anyone who reads this is enjoying their December as well! Abigail

Christmas Decorations

11/16/2022

We love the holiday season! We will be out of town for Thanksgiving, so we started putting up the christmas decorations a bit early this year, putting up a little each day. That way when we return from Thanksgiving vacation our house will be ready to welcome us into the Christmas season.   We love christmas, and it is so fun to have the house dressed for the holidays.

Ready to be matched!

10/17/2022

I am so excited that we have finally made it to this point! Our marketing page is just about completed and that means we can be matched with a mother soon.  This is such a great time, and we are praying for our future match! Tyler is visiting a friend in Denver this week. It was last minute so that he could spend some time with friends, and I love that he would do anything for his friends and family. That means I am on my own with the "boy" (our dogs) this week.  I am pretty sure Roman has a ear infection, so I will need to take him to the vet tomorrow. Poor boy. He came in today with a face full of dirt! I am not a great blogger, but I hope to keep everyone updated on some day to day happenings. That way you can have bit more of a sneak peak into our lives! Have a good one! Abigail

Loving Springtime

03/31/2023

I love the sunshine! This past week has been amazing with the sunshine and warmer weather. Tyler and I enjoy sitting on our porch and feeling the breeze. We also went to New Orleans over spring break. We mainly went for the incredible creole food and New Orleans did not disappoint. We had oysters, crawfish, and creamy pasta.  We also took a fun swamp tour of the honey island swamp and saw alligators, birds of the bayou, and even swamp raccoons. It was a nice trip and I loved spending the time with Tyler.  We are looking forward to seeing the trees slowly turn greener and greener. Don't forget to appreciate the beautiful, changing scenery!
